Grape Varieties:
Grenache (56%) Syrah (33%) and Mourvèdre (11%)
Wine Making Method and Maturation:
Gentle ageing of all components in older large French oak barrels lends a subtle structure to the wine on the mid palate which leads to a crisp dry finish. Lightly pressed and minimal skin contact shows a elegant salmon pink colour in this wine. A typical Provence inspired Rosé.
Wine Tasting Notes:
On colour
Domaine Des Dieux Petit Rosé 2022 shows a delicate, pale salmon-pink hue with onion-skin highlights, giving an immediate impression of lightness and refreshment. The colour is bright and limpid, suggesting gentle pressing and a style that favours elegance over extraction.
On the nose
The nose is expressive and pretty, with aromas of Turkish delight, ripe strawberry and red berry fruit lifted by perfumed rose-petal nuances. A subtle savoury edge, hinted at by notes of smoked salmon and dried apricot, adds an intriguing counterpoint to the sweetly aromatic profile.
On the palate
On the palate the wine is dry, light to medium-bodied and crisply refreshing, showing flavours of strawberry, redcurrant and pomegranate wrapped in zesty, mouth-watering acidity. A faint creamy texture from neutral oak and a delicate savoury note underline the lingering, clean finish, making it as suited to bistro fare as to casual sipping.
On the whole
A bright, charming dry rosé, combining scented Turkish delight and red berries with crisp acidity and a subtly savoury, food-friendly finish.
