And for all the WSET students who’ve read in textbooks about Pinotage’s trademark “coffee” note – here’s your chance to see if the legend lives up to the sip. Come, taste for yourself, and uncover just how much this remarkable cultivar has waiting beyond the expected.

Venue: That Wine Place, Holland Village
Time: To maintain a smooth flow and ensure as many wine lovers as possible can enjoy the event, kindly note that while the festival runs from 1–5pm, each attendee should only join the specific tasting session(s) they have purchased tickets for. This helps us manage venue capacity, create a comfortable experience, and allows everyone the opportunity to participate—thank you for understanding and helping us make this celebration seamless for all.

Free-Roaming Tastings: Venture between themed zones to uncover diverse Pinotage styles. Explore up to 60 wines across the 4 themes.

  • Session 1: 1:00 – 3:00 PM (40 spots available @ $68/pax)

Masterclass with Winemakers:

  • 2.30 - 3.30pm: Deepen your appreciation in a focused 1-hour masterclass with South Africa’s top voices, featuring Abrie Beeslaar—renowned for over 20 years as Kanonkop’s Cellarmaster and three-time International Wine & Spirit Competition International Winemaker of the Year—and rising talent Gavin Slabbert of Bruwer Vintners, a next-generation winemaker shaping Pinotage’s future.(30 slots available @ $48)

What is Pinotage?

Pinotage is a distinctive South African red grape variety, renowned for its bold flavors and unique origins. For a detailed exploration, visit the blog: “What to know about South Africa’s red varietal, the Pinotage”.

Will it only be featuring Pinotage wines?

The focus will be on Pinotage, but it also means that we would be featuring other cultivars and wine styles that are relevant to the story of Pinotage.

In Theme 1, you can also look forward to tasting Pinot Noirs and Cinsaults, the "parent" cultivars of Pinotage.

In Theme 3, you will naturally also be tasting some Bordeaux Blends.

Can wines be purchased to take home?

As a pop-up event, on-site cash and carry sales are not planned. Orders can be placed via order forms, with usual delivery policies applying. Depending on stock and demand, some unopened bottles may become available for on-site sale during the festival.

I've bought the ticket but I can't attend it after all. What can I do?

Tickets are not refundable but are transferable. Feel free to pass on the ticket to someone else. For the purpose of ensuring there is no misuse of the ticket, kindly drop us an email to let us know who you intend to transfer the ticket to. You can reach us at howzit@messageinabottle.sg

Can I buy tickets on-site?

On-site ticket sales depend on availability. To guarantee entry, advance online purchase is strongly encouraged.

Are there early bird ticket options?
