The overall appearance is clean and bright, with slow, stained legs that point to elevated alcohol and extract typical of a full-bodied South African Cabernet.
On the nose
The nose is pronounced and varietally expressive, opening with blackcurrant, black cherry and ripe plum, supported by notes of eucalyptus and mint that are characteristic of the Simonsberg site. Underneath the fruit lie savoury tones of cedar, pencil shavings and subtle tobacco, reflecting time in oak, along with a hint of baking spice and vanilla. A gentle dried herb and leafy note adds complexity and freshness, keeping the aroma profile lifted rather than heavy.
On the palate
On the palate, the wine is dry with a full body and a big, mouth-filling texture, yet the tannins are described as soft and accessible, giving a rounded, velvety impression rather than astringency. Flavours mirror the nose, led by cassis, black cherry and blackberry, layered with eucalyptus, cedar and subtle spice, all carried by medium plus alcohol and balanced by fresh acidity. The finish is long and savoury, with lingering dark fruit and gentle oak notes that make it particularly well suited to grilled steaks, beef and venison dishes.

A rich yet approachable South African Cabernet Sauvignon with generous dark fruit, supple tannins and savoury eucalyptus–cedar complexity, ideal for hearty red meat pairings.
