Wine Tasting Notes:
On colour
The wine is clear and displays a deep ruby intensity, showing a concentrated core with a narrow, youthful rim.
On the nose
The nose is clean with a pronounced intensity. It features primary aromas of ripe pomegranate, mulberry, and black cherry, layered with distinctive herbaceous notes of fynbos and dried mint. Secondary aromas from maturation in 50% new French oak are prominent, characterized by pencil shavings, cedar wood, and a touch of toasted clove. The wine is currently developing.
On the palate
The wine is dry with high acidity and high, ripe, fine-grained tannins. It is full-bodied with high alcohol that is well-integrated into a concentrated frame. The flavor intensity is pronounced, mirroring the nose with primary red and black fruit and secondary notes of graphite and cedar. The finish is long, complex, and persistent.
On the whole
This is an outstanding quality wine with the structural components and fruit concentration to age gracefully for another 5 to 8 years.
